The world has changed much since the day I last took my breath. However, with today’s problems and economic issues, it can make a person in the grave flinch. Let us start with the issue of universal healthcare. Who will pay for it? When it’s free, it’s not really free because it’s coming from someone else’s pocket. From what I understand, if a small business has 50 or more employees, they will have to pay a shared pay if they don’t already offer health insurance for their workers. However, more to that issue is the question of where the money comes from. Taxes will be raised and the taxpayer, all of you ladies and gentlemen (points to everyone), will be paying high taxes to the government’s health care fund. The upper middle class that makes $200,000 and up will be taxed; pharmaceuticals will be taxed, and even insurance providers will be taxed (Wikipedia.com). Is that what we want? Certainly not I. This is government involvement in the money that average Americans are making that can be better put into their own hands and better spent on something else; the money market and investments. I never cared much for my own health as a heavy smoker that resulted in lung cancer. However, I did live life to the fullest by getting to keep every penny I made in my pocket without the government taking it away for taxes that will pay for other people’s luxury to the doctor and getting their dentures and fixtures done. What am I getting out of this? I don’t get a cent out of those welfare and social security funds! Even though I’m dead, I still have strong faith in the free market. What Americans, the ones who still believe in a free economy, should do to keep their money in their pocket and government out, is to oppose government assistance programs and any government interference into the private sector. Propose bills and laws that limit the government from stating that you as a citizen will have to be responsible for another person’s wellbeing.
