Well i hope that i am not the only one that didn't know what the tea party was. I had asked my step dad what the Tea party was and all he could say was " they are just a bunch of psychos." lol and i would say i would have to agree. Just like i hate Glenn Beck, im not a big fan of Tea party either. i'm not the type of person that is interested in finding out whats going on in the world, but i do find it interesting how the people think. in fact, i think people that are in the tea party are crazy and selfish. The signs " BARACK HUSSEIN HITLER GO BACK ToO KENYA" and " gangster government," mentioned in Prologue by Zernike, made me giggle a little bit, not the good giggle, but it just shocked me that people feel that way. These people are just trying to spread themselves like a virus. I feel like they arent looking at the situations correctly and just making a fool of themselves. Of course, most of the people in the Tea party are "crancky old conservatives hung up on abortion and gay marriage, now upset that a black man they didnt think was a citizen was living in the white house." (219) because they are selfish. why not better the world?..yes im sure in some cases its not fair, but wouldnt it benefit us all in the long run?..
"Tea Partiers tended to believe that they had done all the right things in life...They believed was embracing policies that favored the poor...Government had taken control of their lives and they wanted it back." (222) once again selfish. The Tea Partiers kept saying that its rewarding the losers. according to USA today three out of Ten pepole are supporters of the Tea Party. Some of them dont even understand it, " i dont really understand it, but i like what thye stand for, They just support everything in looking for." I think they should find out what they actually do represent ( not that i know much either) before actually making a decision in where you stand.
Another idiot that we just cant get enough off is Beck, to me he just seems to whine and whine all the time. in This is America a quote by Beck, " I just love my country, and i fear of it. and it seems like the voices of our leaders and special interests and the media, they're surrounding us, it sounds intimidating." "pull away the curtain, y'ull realize that there isnt anybody there, its just a few people that are just pressing the buttons and their voices are actually really weak. the truth is, they dont surround us. we surround them. this is OUR country.".. can you say DRAMATIC. yes this is our country but from what i know so far, everything that has been done is for the better. We havent seen no drastic changes, but will benefit us in the long run. an article on the Washington Post, according to the Tea Partiers, "it has been proven that it can motivate voters and gets them to the polls." well, lets hope that people do vote but they vote right and for the right reasons.
My understand of the Tea party is still not very clear but so far all of the people involved in it seem to be people that arent really for change but against everything that effects them and their lives.
