More money more problems
In my life i've had many ups and downs and i still am, but one thing that i thought about while reading this was the restaurant T.G.I Fridays that i used to work at as a server. recently i have heard that they are getting a bunch of new rules for every employee. Fridays used to be about individualism, each server was unique and it was expressed through our shirts and our personalities, now they are trying to change all that and go in a more "professional" way. They banded any tattoos, piercings, and anything that brings that individual out. They changed the dress code and now everyone has to wear the same thing. They started firing people, like managers, that have been working there for a long time simply because they got paid too much while they can just hire someone else that has the same skills but for a fewer pay. They did this to obviously not spend so much money but to also try and raise up their profits. The funny thing is that they change thier rules and menus atleast every like 6 months so nothing is really set in stone like most managers like to think. They try to trick us, but there is only so much that employees can take, the whole porpuse of T.G.I Fridays was individuals and "ITS ALWAYS FRIDAYS" when peopple eat there now its a ordinary place to work in and people aren't as satisfied as they used to. I think fridays is a making a mistake. its creating problems with everyone that is involved in working there and making people angry. Companies always want the best for them, we do always try and achieve the most and everything possible to advance in life. When Weber states, "Thus the capitalism of today, which has come to dominate the economic life, educates and selects the economic subjects which it needs through a process of economic survival of the fittest."(20) in other words, the companies, individuals, or whatever it may be are always going to be trying new thing to come out on top! "Remember, that money is of the prolific, generating nature. Money can beget money, and its offspring can beget more, and so on." (15)
